MOVEMENT CLASS

We are happy and proud to announce the 2nd cycle of the movement classes this time guided by Joost Koster

Bring comfy clothes with long sleeveswith long sleeves//long pants,long pants,
warm enough to lay on the floor.
And please bring bring a smart phone/portable screen if you have one.

In these 90 minute open movement classes Joost Koster proposes to collectively
research, how our bodies can be moved by the digital. The aim of this is to expand your own movement vocabulary in a playful guided research.

The class will start with an extensive warm up, to get into our bodies, to get into our bodies and
to activate the moving gaze. From there we move into a guided into a guided improvisation in which movement is potentially initiated by digital//imaginary realms.

BIO:
Currently based in Berlin, Joost Koster works by combining video, performance, audio, drawing and revolves around reflecting on the digital technologies that shape our daily reality.
The way we think is shaped by the tools at our disposal. Therefore, Koster tries to create new ways of relating to our disposal, to our digital tools (screens, Zoom, phone camera screens, Zoom, phone cameras) by stretching the boundaries from within these devices.
His research dives into the gap between the hard edges of the screen and the soft edges ofthe gap between the hard edges of the screen and the soft edges of the body. He is currently studying contemporary dance at Tanzfabrikthe body in Berlin.
Joost graduated from VAV - Moving Image at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2020.
