Peninsular Reflections

Josefina Gilardi took over the pavilion as her studio space where she use this space as an excuse to start conversations and print collectively. Josefina is the first person selected of the open call “Dissidency” with her project Peninsular Reflections and has been experimenting with multiples types of printing and created moments of collective creation and sonic archives.

'The starting point was the Glass Pavilion as an insular/autonomous entity in connection to school. I was interested in the relationship between isolation and community in times of pandemic, starting with the architecture itself. What can happen in/from the pavilion during the time frame? What can I use that is already there?

The project developed into an open studio were collective work was made with visitors. I provided materials where experiments with printing were made by people who came by, with mainly cyanotypes and screen printing. The process of curation was also a collective decision, made with the people who participated. The endpoint is a publication with the works made during the residency and the soundscapes made with samples of the space.'
